Bhumi Suposhan is a significant Bhartiya Krishi tradition. Over the years, in the age of modern agriculture, we have lost connect with this tradition. Consequently, our Bhumi has weakened. Modern agriculture has paved the way for indeterminate use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, monocropping instead of crop diversity, fossil fuels instead of animal power, intensive irrigation, and intensive land use. These are some of the major reasons of disconnecting us from Bhartiya Krishi tradition. Bhumi Suposhan and Samrakshan Jan Abhiyan is a joint effort of farmers practicing Bhartiya Krishi, organizations working with the farmers, Agriculture Scientists and Farmer Scientists. The Abhiyan aims at reinstating Bhumi Suposhan in its contemporary form without compromising present demands of our agriculture.
